I just discovered that you can put labels on your posts. I've had a go at doing this and the labels are now listed down the left-hand side. I'm new to blogging so if anyone knows of anything else that can be done that would be useful, please let me know!
I felt a lot better today. I saw a short video where someone took a drag on a cigarette, then without sucking the smoke into his lungs, he blew the smoke out again onto a clean white napkin. The napkin then had a nasty brown stain on it. He then did the same thing, but this time took the smoke into his lungs as a normal smoker would do. When he blew the smoke onto another clean white napkin, it was still clean!
What happened to the nasty brown stain? It was in the smoker's lungs, and that was from only one puff! Makes you think doesn't it?

Hi Pete
Good to see you are doing so brilliantly.
I am a little depressed, its end of day 23 for me. It is new territory but am hanging in there.
Don't get me wrong I am delighted that I have quit, but feel like a fat balloon and cannot sleep- usual crap.
Anyway I am not and cannot contemplate going back now. Am actually enjoying the "new me". Feel I can breathe more easily and yes I do not smell, even though I think I was damn good at hiding it. I read your updates at the various days, on day 23 you were doing ok I think- they help me a hell of a lot so thanks for this blog.
Anyway all the best. Think I need some happy pills, or maybe an aspirin.
I am convinced that cigarettes provide relief for people suffering very mild depression. I strongly believe that this self medication is what our minds and bodies miss.
Anyway keep going
Cheers Steve
Hi Steve
You're doing brilliantly too and I know what you mean about the "new me".
In a way, you're lucky that you can look ahead in this blog to see what's coming. I know it's not all good news, but at least you can expect more rough times ahead. I keep expecting that suddenly I'll feel normal again, but it's not happening yet. If I could look ahead and see that I'm likely to feel down for another couple of months or so, at least I could prepare better for it.
I don't think cigarettes relieve depression as such. Well they do, but only because they caused it in the first place! A bit like wearing ill-fitting shoes, just so you can feel relief when you take them off!
Keep up the good work
