Day 23 - Sunday February 3rd 2008

Not bad at all today. It must be something about Sundays because looking back, last Sunday was OK too. That was the day I said it was getting easier, but then regretted saying that the next day! Therefore, I'll refrain from making the same mistake and wait to see how tomorrow goes!

If Sundays are generally a good day for me, I'll have to try and think why. I would have thought it would be the most difficult as it is the day that I relax the most. Perhaps that's it, less stress? Who knows.

Maybe being day 23 has something to do with it! Is this the longest you have quit? I think the resources of the internet have helped me alot. That is where I found the affirmation "I am not going to smoke today". And, it is now yours to use when you want to.

Who would have ever thought 20 years ago that you could just create this blog and share your experience and support from across the world. The immediacy of the web is truly amazing to me and so common today.

Anyway, Pete, maybe fewer triggers on the weekend or a better chance for you to be more reflective on what you are doing. Either way, your commitment is coming through pretty clearly in your writing.

To quote the Beatles, "I have to admit it's getting better, a little better, all the time".

And to continue the song, "It can't get no worse". Well let's hope that's true!

I too am amazed by the internet. It's something we all take for granted nowadays and I can't imagine what life would be like without it (hang on, am I talking about the internet or smoking!).

I think I quit for about 2 months once before, but I'm sure I wasn't so detrmined then and always knew I'd start again.

Thanks for your support and keep those comments coming!

I think your doing brilliantly. I myself have an addiction to the internet. And having to stsayin an internet free house is doing wonders for my additction although i sometimes sneek on useing my mobile. I feel though that the internet hurts my health greater than the smoking ever will. Due to the lack of sun light, lack of eating(when playing games), Lack of drinking, lack of movement. Maybe i need hypnoisis for this? lol

Dear aliannurai,

Rest assured that using the internet will NEVER be as bad for you as smoking.

Have you quit smoking or are you just thinking about it?
